Experience 7 (Thursday October 31st, 2013)

I think today was one of the most productive days since I had the opportunity to interview my supervisor. They are a very inspiring individual whose life ambitions and goals are a lot like mine to say the least. They agree with a lot I have to say and I like that about them the most. We have a lot in common about the education system today and we both fear for the next generation's education. I hope from after this interview that we become even more of a stronger pair of educators.

Experience 6 (Thursday October 24th, 2013)

Today was one of the easiest days. It was quiet and everyone was doing their work. Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way to not fall asleep in class. The class was so mundane that I rested my eyes for an entire class period unknowingly. Being embarrassed and shocked I apologized and communicated with the teacher supervising me on how I will improve as an intern. I hope to learn from this experience and I will try and walk around to get the blood pumping, not bring coffee since it is un-professional-looking, and remember to make mental notes each Field Placement experience so I can learn.

Experience 5 (Thursday October 17th, 2013)

Today I was given the opportunity to help two different students out. The section of math was a bit fuzzy at first but once they got the ball rolling the knowledge of the content became stronger. I was embarrassed that I couldn't confidently help them at first. Either way I felt like a hero to them. I think the students felt that I was a good asset to them.

My confidence in my tutoring and grading abilities were shattered when I was questioned if I had ever worn glasses as a child by my supervisor. I have always believed that I had great vision. I wish I had the time to get my eyes checked.

I think the teacher supervising overall likes my presence. They enjoy my energy, curiosity, and passion on the subject. I am glad I can participate in the class and hope this continues to grow.

Field Experience 4 (Thursday October 10th, 2013)

Today I was given the opportunity to grade student's tests. It made me realize that there are many student's struggling in this subject. I was surprised that most students had an average of a solid "C". I graded two sets of tests. Both were the same subject or class course but at different times of the day. The second class did slightly better but they had their own downfalls.

I realized that this grading gave me an opportunity to see what the student's were struggling with. I was told by the instructor themself to be "generous" in my grading. They believed that there student had more possibilities than they showed on their test itself. They had an interesting grading skill as well as a laid-back approach to the testing.

I got to assist two different students at one point throughout the day but it was mostly taken over by grading papers. Right now it was fun but there are bound to be some worst days than today.

Experience 3 (Thursday October 3rd, 2013)

Today was very interesting since I was super involved with everyone in the classroom. The students are finally warming up to me and that makes me feel even more special. I am glad I am beginning to bond with them and that they are slowly trusting me. I think they realized that it is okay to be friends with a teacher intern who is around their age since they still see me as someone who is more knowledgeable who is attending college.  I was very involved with the class lesson and I hope to get to teach a class- not entirely but at least maybe write the class directions or information on the whiteboard or even Smar-tboard.

Experience 2 (Thursday September 26th, 2013)

Today I went on my first Field Placement. When the bus took us to Gibsonburg High School the school's head security officer gave us a tour of the school. We learned that Gibsonburg High School is also connected to Gibsonburg Middle School.

My first impression when I walked in was that the classroom size was big. When I realized that the classrooms are holding not that many students per a room. The rural school environment is quite a difference what I am used to.

The students were really rebellious. They wouldn't listen to the instructor, follow directions, or even participate. Many of the students were texting, chatting, or even sleeping in class. The teacher struggles with keeping the students' attention.

No Field Placement (Thursday September 19th, 2013)

On Thursday September 19th, 2013 I woke up at 7:30AM. I got dressed and ready. When I had gotten into my teacher-attire I checked my e-mail only to find out that Gibsonburg High School was closed for fog issues. I was disappointed because I had done some lesson planning out of my own free will to look more professional when I met the students.

On Thursday October 3rd, 2013 I woke up at 8:30AM and went to Dunkin' Donuts. I had tasty breakfast and got on the bus. There I was on the bus waiting for us to leave. I checked my email on my smartphone only to realize that students that go to Field Placement to Gibsonburg High School on Thursdays didn't have to go today. I was quite disappointed and walked off with embarrassment.
